Quran Recitations by Mauritanian Qaris to Be Recorded

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Mauritanian official said two workshops have been launched to record recitations of Quran by the country’s Qaris.

 

Syed Mohamed Ould Sweidat, an official with the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport, said that the two started their activities on Friday.

He added that they have been opened in cooperation with the National Radio, Ami.mr website reported.

According to the official, the recordings will be broadcast on the National Radio and private radio stations.

He also hailed the Quranic efforts of the National Radio, including organization of Quran competitions.

The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a country in the Maghreb region of western North Africa.

The country’s population is estimated to be about 4 million and virtually all Mauritanians are Muslims.

Quranic activities and programs are very popular in the African country.
